Pages in My Grimoire; That Just Make Sense

In this series I will go over all the pages in my grimoire and walk you through building your own step by step!

Feel free to print off and share my blog posts for your own personal grimoire or book of shadows.

First lets begin with the medium. What will you use for your grimoire? Personally, the easiest is just a blank sketch book. You can have any cover that speaks to you. You can even glue and create your own. Binders, notebooks, poster boards, word pads online... the options are endless. Choose what speaks to you!

Book Blessing

The first page in my grimoire is the Book Blessing. The book blessing is for the book itself, you as the practitioner, the information you put in the book, and the spells and rituals you plan to use. There are cultural blessings, protection spells, sigils, and symbols you can use as your blessing. You can even create your own using a favorite poem or family saying. Here is an example that I have used for one of my Book Of Shadows.

Under the moon with a clear sky after you have already opened your circle place your book in the center. with the top edge facing the northern point. Open the cover and place your herbs of choice onto the page.

Write and say the following:

Elements, protect the book.

From wandering eyes and prying look,

Fill it with Thine ancient power

In this right and ready hour.

Your can leave the page open under the moon until you close your circle. Weather permitting you may leave it out over night or place in a sacred space.

Index Page

Pretty straight forward here. You want to be able to find your information quickly but also leave room to grow. You will be learning EVERY SINGLE DAY. So make sure you have space for that! You will have new rituals and guides. Just LEAVE SPACE. Take it from someone who has had to revamp a few things over time to organize. Just do it now

Family History Pages

These pages in my grimore span about 6 to 8 pages. On the first two pages a drew out a detailed family tree. Names and birthdays for as far back as possible. The next two pages are all the family history I know. This includes stories and tales, lessons and legends, and other backgrounds. The next two pages is all about our family religion, ethnicities, cultures, and travels. The final page is a detailed history about our origins, this is from research.

Make sure to make it original to you and your needs as a witch! There is no right way to creating your grimoire, so remember that this is just one of many guide!
