Pages in my Grimoire that Just Make Sense: Deities

One of the very first pages I ever crafted as a baby witch — wide-eyed, curious, and candle-lit — was about Deities.
There’s something about deity work that feels like being gently tapped on the shoulder by the universe. You may not even know it yet, but often, the Deity that’s calling to you might have been there all along — in dreams, in signs, in the strange little nudges that led you to this path in the first place.
Let’s open the grimoire and step into the realm of the Divine, shall we?
🕯️ A Gentle Reminder Before We Begin...
Every witch’s grimoire is unique — stitched together with different paths, practices, and personal magic. What I share in this series is meant to be a guide, a soft lantern glow in the dark woods — not a rigid rulebook.
Take what resonates, leave what doesn’t, and above all: make it your own.

🗝️ What Is Deity Work?
Deities are the gods, goddesses, spirits, and divine beings that have been worshipped, praised, and petitioned across cultures and ages. Working with them — or being guided by them — can be a deeply grounding part of one’s craft.
For many witches, especially when starting out, deity work offers a sense of direction. A guide. A cosmic companion. In fact, your connection to a specific Deity may be what pulled you into witchcraft in the first place — a whisper you finally learned to hear.

📜 How I Lay Out My Deity Pages
Scattered throughout my grimoire are pages dedicated to Deities — some well-known, some lesser-known, some that reached out to me in unexpected ways.
🔮 Starting with a List
The first few pages are simple: just lists of Deities across different pantheons and cultures. These are reference pages — something I can flip through when I feel a pull or want to learn more. You’d be surprised how often I return to them.

🧚 Deep Dives
After the lists come the deeper connections. These pages are lovingly filled with information about the Deities I’ve worked with or found fascinating. I include:
Crystal, color, scent, and herb associations
Sacred animals and symbols
Offerings they enjoy (think food, drink, flowers, or music)
Stories and myths they appear in
Festival and sabbat connections (perfect for Wheel of the Year work)
For instance, Demeter — goddess of the harvest — is one I return to often. Her presence in my craft is constant, especially when working with abundance, growth, and cycles.
Some witches work with different Deities seasonally, while others are guided by a single one throughout. Trust your path.
🌒 My Favorite Pages: The Personal Magic
Among all the inked pages, my favorites are the ones filled with my own experiences:🕯️ Meditations🌿 One-on-one rituals🪄 Prayers and offerings🦋 Signs and synchronicities
These pages feel like sacred memory. I always try to jot down the following:
What I felt
What I saw or experienced
Where I was
Any blessings or challenges that followed
The energy that lingered afterward
Even small things — a sudden breeze during a prayer, a dream, a feather on the ground — become part of the story.
