What first peaked my interest when researching information for my own Grimoire were all the magical and medicinal properties of herbs and plants. This is what also made me really interested in herbalism and started my journey in that. Herbs have both medicinal and magickal properties linked or associated with them. I have another blog series here at Twitchy's Apothecary that goes into the medicinal properties of different herbs.

My Grimoire has many pages dedicated to individual herbs and their properties. So one page would have the common and latin name for the herb, how to care for the plant, how to break it down and prepare the plant for different applications and remedies, what the magickal properties associated with it are, what medicinal properties it may have, ad any recipes, teas, or concoctions you made need or use. I have an entire two pages where I have written and attached information, spells, and more regarding herbs in general. Lists from books and courses are great additions as well. You can use this section more of as a database of sorts.
Section off the pages into charts or squares and list different magickal properties or medicinal needs then list the herbs or plants that can be used.

This section would lead into your Oil and Incense pages as well. Many herbs are used in oils and different types of incenses. You can start this section by how to prepare oils and incenses yourself from different herbal mixtures. I will create a blog soon on how to prepare oils, tinctures, syrups, and more soon! From there you can list different recipes, and their properties. When making your own incense or burning any herbs ALWAYS DO YOUR RESEARCH. Many herbs contain toxins that should not be inhaled by human or animals.
I also have an "Herbal First Aid" page that I use for quick references. This is where I created my smaller herbal first aid kit. Here is what I keep in there: Lavender Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Clove Oil, Dried Bay Leaves, Crushed Basil, and a few tinctures like Dandelion and Heartsease.

Really use these pages as your written Apothecary. You will learn more as your grow so make sure to leave enough room to add more to it later. There is so much information from so many cultures around the world. Research, learn what attracts you, and remember to always be respectful of those cultures and practices.
