🌕 Pages in My Grimoire That Just Make Sense: The Moon

There’s a reason the moon gets her own section in nearly every grimoire and Book of Shadows — she rules the tides, our dreams, our intuition, and the very rhythm of nature itself. The moon isn’t just a light in the night sky; she’s a teacher, a guide, and a clock for every witch’s craft.

When I open this page in my grimoire, it feels like slipping into moonlight — soft, silver, and secret. Here’s what I keep tucked between those shimmering pages.

🌑 The Phases of the Moon and Their Magic

Each phase carries its own energy, and working in harmony with that rhythm can make our magic flow effortlessly.

🌑 New Moon — Beginnings, Planting SeedsThe sky is dark, but that’s where all new things are born.✨ Perfect for: setting intentions, journaling goals, shadow work, rest, and spiritual reset.🕯 Ritual: Write your intentions on a small piece of paper and plant it beneath a seedling or in a pot of soil. Let it grow with the moon.

🌒 Waxing Crescent — Growth and MomentumA sliver of light returns, and so does energy.✨ Perfect for: spells of attraction, creativity, motivation, and opportunity.🕯 Ritual: Burn a green candle and visualize your intention growing with the moonlight.

🌓 First Quarter — Action and CourageNow’s the time to move. The energy is building and obstacles may appear — push through them.✨ Perfect for: confidence spells, career advancement, self-discipline, or taking physical steps toward goals.🕯 Ritual: Write down what stands in your way, then safely burn the paper and blow the ashes away under the moonlight.

💧 Moon Water: Capturing Lunar Energy

Moon water is one of my most-used magical tools. It’s simple and full of potential — water charged under the moon to absorb her energy.

To make it:

  1. Fill a clean jar or bottle with water (filtered or spring if possible).

  2. Place it under the moonlight overnight.

  3. Whisper your intention — whether for calm, clarity, or creativity.

  4. Label it with the date and phase.

Use moon water to cleanse your altar, water your plants, anoint candles, or add a few drops to your bath or floor wash.

Each moon phase lends a different vibration:

  • 🌑 New Moon Water – for beginnings, self-reflection, and cleansing.

  • 🌕 Full Moon Water – for manifestation, empowerment, and celebration.

  • 🌘 Waning Moon Water – for release, purification, and closure

🌙 Cozy Moon Rituals

🛁 Moon Bath – Add sea salt, rose petals, and a few drops of moon water. Light a candle and soak beneath her glow.

🌕 In Closing

The moon reminds us that everything moves in cycles — rest and rise, wax and wane, release and renew. When I work with her energy, I’m reminded that magic doesn’t have to be loud or elaborate. Sometimes it’s as simple as stepping outside, breathing in her silver light, and whispering thank you.
